The Washington Park Citizens' Association is a non-profit organization formed in 1969 to work towards improving the Washington Park neighborhood. The Association is the governing board of the Washington Park Community Center.
The Washington Park Community Center, a multipurpose human service agency, offers a variety of programs and social services to the local community. Our licensed childcare programs include Infant/Toddler Daycare, Pre-School, Before & After School programs. These are year round programs, providing a nurturing and educational environment for children who need care while their parents are at work.
The Center is funded by various sources including: Department for Children, Youth & Families, Department of Human Services, City of Providence, Community Development Block Grant, Dexter Donation, Rhode Island Foundation and other private donations, grants and fund-raising.
Our belief at Washington Park Community Center is that every child has the right to a safe, nurturing environment while away from his or her home, while instilling in them a sense of trust and well being.
In order to provide a positive experience for a child in their earliest years of daycare or pre-school, we recognize the individuality of each child and strive to provide a varied, stimulating program based on learning centers. Each learning center will be designed to promote developmental growth in every area encouraging each child to reach its full potential.
In attaining these goals, we fully realize that a positive learning experience will reflect in a child's performance as they grow, and we acknowledge the importance of this commitment.
